Nowa pozycja wydawnicza

W Bitiku. Karaimskiej Oficynie Wydawniczej ukazała się właśnie interesująca pozycja autorstwa prof. Henryka Jankowskiego:
z wstępu:
Mordecai Ḳazaz’s Ṭuv Ṭaʿam ‘Good Judgement’ is the only known Karaim catechism in Crimean Turkic Karaim. Written in the form of responsa for teaching the young, it marks the shift from Hebrew into Turkic in the Karaim literature of Crimea. Preserved among the holdings of the Edinburgh Univeristy Library (Or.Ms. 629) and printed in Gözleve (Eupatoria) in 1835, it stands at the crossroads of pedagogy, language and identity.
In this volume Henryk Jankowski presents the first critical edition, with the text based on the Edinburgh manuscript and systematically compared with the Gözleve print; variants are recorded and several lacunae restored. The introduction situates the work within the history of Jewish and Karaim catechisms and profiles Mordecai ben Solomon Ḳazaz.
Linguistically, the main text in Crimean Turkish Karaim is interwoven with biblical citations in Crimean Kipchak Karaim, alongside extensive Hebrew vocabulary and influences from Ottoman Turkish, Arabic and Persian. The edition provides an annotated transcription, an English translation, a Glossary and Index, and a manuscript facsimile, serving scholars of Karaim, Jewish and Turkic studies and historical linguistics.
